ADIFLEX-B is an elastomeric emulsion used as an admixture for cement mortars, cement-based brushable waterproofing slurries, cement-based tile adhesives, water-based paints, etc., offering:
- High flexibility
- Water impermeability
- Increased adhesion to the substrate.
ADIFLEX-B is used for the elastification of:
- Cement-based waterproofing slurries (e.g. AQUAMAT) when the surface to be sealed shows or is expected to show hairline cracks.
- Tile adhesives (e.g. ISOMAT AK-20, to fix tiles on substrates subject to expansion-contraction (dimensional changes) or vibration.
ADIFLEX-B may also be used to elastify other cement mortars.
Substrate preparation
The substrate must be clean, free of grease, oil or dust as flas as possible. It should also be dampened but without ponding. Porous surfaces like aerated concrete, gypsum boards, chipboards, etc. should be primed with UNI-PRIMER.
Elastification of waterproofing slurries
Full elastification of AQUAMAT
The content to 1 bag (25 kg) of AQUAMAT is gradually added to 10 kg of ADIFLEX-B under continuous stirring. Depending on the desired workability, a small amount of water (approx. 1 l) may also be needed.
Partial elastification of AQUAMAT
In case less flexibility is required, 25 kg of AQUAMAT may be mixed with 5 kg of ADIFLEX-B, plus an amount of water (approx. 4l), depending on the desired workability.
Elastification of tile adhesives
Full elastification of ISOMAT-AK-20
The content of 1 bag (25 kg) of ISOMAT AK-20 is added to 5.5 kg ADIFLEX-B, plus 2-3 l of water, under continuous stirring until a uniform mixture is formed.
Partial elastification of ISOMAT AK-20
In case less flexibility is required, 25 kg of ISOMAT AK-20 may be mixed with 3 kg ADIFLEX-B plus an amount of water (approx. 4 l), depending on the desired workablity.
