AK-PRIMER

One-component adhesion primer based on acrylic resins. It is used for the preparation of smooth, absorbent and non-absorbent substrates before the application of cement-based adhesives for tiles, natural or synthetic stones, etc.
ISOMAT AK-PRIMER can be applied as an adhesion primer on various substrates, such as old tiles, marble, natural stones, smooth cement-based industrial floorings, wooden, metal or rigid PVC floorings, etc.

Substrate preparation
The surface to be primed must be dry and free of dust, grease, dirt etc.

Application
In case of non-absorbent substrates, ISOMAT AK-PRIMER is poured directly from the container onto the substrate and spread with a roller or brush in one layer. If after applying the first coating, the surface has not been completely covered with the material, then a second layer should be applied, after the first one has dried. The adhesive may be applied one hour after priming and while ISOMAT AK-PRIMER is still tacky. In case of absorbent substrates, ISOMAT AK-PRIMER is diluted with pure water (at a ratio of 1:0,5 up to 1:1), depending on the substrate absorptivity. Then, ISOMAT AK-PRIMER is uniformly applied on the substrate with a roller or brush. The adhesive may be applied after the primer has dried.

  • The application temperature should range from +5oC to +35oC.
  • The maximum period allowed for overlaying is 12 hours (at +20 oC). Once this period has elapsed, a new layer of ISOMAT AK-PRIMER should be applied, before the application of the tile adhesive.
