Decorative protective agent for concrete with a colored semi-covering effect. It creates a water-repellent protective layer, resistant to freeze/thaw cycles, to the basicity of concrete and to the penetration of SO2 gases, present in smog and rain, which today are the worst enemy of concrete because they cause carbonation and the consequent rusting of the iron reinforcement. Also suitable for masonry, fiber cement or stone.

Technical Qualities
BETONCRYL SEMITRANSPARENT is a special acrylic protective coating for concrete with coloured semitransparent finish. The product consists of modified acrylic resins in water dispersion which provide a waterproof protective coat resistant to frost-thaw cycles and to penetration of CO2 and SO2 gases present in smog and rain, that are today, the worst enemies of concrete because they cause the carbonation and the consequent rusting of concrete iron rods. The product also prevents the development of moulds and algae. In the event that an even greater level of protection against mould and algae is needed, it is recommended to add the indicated additive STERYLPLUS to the product its high vapour-permeability allows BETONCRYLL SEMITRANSPARENT to be used also on masonry, fiber cement and stone. It has a low odour level, is non-inflammable and is friendly to both humans and the environment.

Surface preparation
Carefully clean the surface to be treated removing any loose or flaking material, dust, smog or dirt by brushing thoroughly or washing the surface. New surfaces must be thoroughly dry and mature and free from grease.

Application Method
On old and powdering surfaces apply as a primer, a coat of BETONCRYLL SEMITRANSPARENT diluted 70-80% with drinkable water. After preparation of the surface, apply by brush, roller or spray gun, two coats of BETONCRYLL SEMITRASPARENT allowing 4 hours between coats. Dilute the first coat 40% and the second 20% with drinkable water. The final colour of BETONCRYLL SEMITRANSPARENT can vary depending on the absorption of the surface.

Safety Information
The product is free of any toxic, pigments or other components containing heavy metals such as lead or chrome. Further to this, the product contains no toxic solvents, aromatics or chlorides. There is no risk of any dangerous polymerisation. The product is non combustible and is held to be a non-toxic substance if used in the technically correct manner. Normal cautionary measures for the handling of water based paints are advised. No special arrangements are required for the storage, movement and transportation of the product, any spillage should be cleaned up using absorbent inert material such as sand, soil etc, and then disposed of as any normal waste product according to national and regional currect regulations. The transportation must be carried out in conformity with international agreements.

Specifications
Clean the surface to be treated, brush or wash away smog and dust, remove loose or flaking materials. Onto old, powdery and chalking substrates, apply as primer, a coat of an acrylic protective product such as BETONCRYLL SEMITRANSPARENT by OIKOS diluted 70-80%. In case of new plasters, make sure the substrate is thoroughly dry and free from any grease or lubricants. After preparing the substrate, apply two coats of a diluted acrylic protective coating such as BETONCRYLL SEMITRANSPARENT by OIKOS, waiting 4 hours between coats. All must be carried out in accordance with the norms of application.
