DUROPRIMER-W

DUROPRIMER-W is a three-component, water-based epoxy primer featuring superior adhesion to wet substrates and great workability. Certified according to EN 13813 and classified as SR-B2,0. CE marked.
For use on wet or new concrete floors (age < 28 days) to be covered with epoxy floor coating from the DUROFLOOR range.

Substrate
The substrate to be treated must be:

  • Stable and free of standing water.
  • Free of materials that might impair adhesion, such as dust, loose particles, grease, etc.

Furthermore, depending on the natural of the substrate, proper preparation must be carried out, such as grinding, milling, shot blasting, etc. Then the surface must be cleaned thoroughly with a high-suction vacuum cleaner.

Mixing of DUROPRIMER-W
Components A (hardener), B (resin), and C (aggregates) are packaged in separate containers with predetermined mixing proportions. First, the entire contents of component A is added to component B. Mixing of the two components should take place for approx. 5 minutes with a low-speed mixer (300 rpm). It is important to stir the mixture thoroughly near the sides and bottom of the container to achieve uniform dispersion of the hardener. Then, the mixture (A+B) is poured into a clean container and component C is added under continuous stirring. Mixing is carried out with a low-speed mixer and continues until the mixture becomes completely homogeneous.

Application- Consumption
At fist, any cracks and imperfections are filled with DUROPRIMER-W (A+B+C). Once the filling material has set, DUROPRIMER-W diluted up to 20% with water is applied to the substrate with a brush or roller in 2 layers.
Consumption: 250-300 g/m2/layer.

After 48 hours and providing the moisture content of the DUROPRIMER-W layer is less than 4%, the application of a DUROFLOOR epoxy system may follow.
24 months from production date if stored in original, unopened packaging, at temperatures between +5 oC and +35 oC. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.

  • The workability of epoxy materials is affected by their temperature. The ideal temperature of application is between +15 oC and +25 oC so that the product will be easy to use and cure as prescribed. Room temperature below +15 oC will prolong the curing time and temperature above +30 oC will accelerate the curing time. In winter time a mild preheating of the product is recommended, while in summer time the materials should be stored in a cool room before application.
  • In case recoat time is longer than expected or old floors are to be overlaid again, the substrate should be thoroughly cleaned and ground prior to application of the new layer.
  • After hardening, DUROPRIMER-W is completely safe for health.
  • Please consult the direct for safe and precautions written on the packaging before use.
