ISOMAT AK-10

ISOMAT AK-10 is a non-slip cement-based tile adhesive for floors and walls. Provides high initial and final adhesion strength and moisture resistance. Certified according to EN 12004 and classified as type C1 T adhesive. CE marked. ISOMAT AK-10 is suitable for fixing ceramic wall and floor tiles to a variety of substrates inculding concrete, brickwork, plaster, etc. For interior and exterior tile grouting applications.

Substrate
The surface to be overlaid must be clean, free of dust, grease, paint, loose material, etc. It is recommended that the substrate be dampened prior to application.

Application
ISOMAT AK-10 is gradually added to water under continuous stirring, until a uniform paste is formed. A low-speed mixer is recommended for mixing. The mixture should be left for approx. 5 minutes to stand and should be stirred slightly again. The tile adhesive should be spread and “combed” on the substrate using a notched trowel, in order to be uniformly applied over the entire surface. The tiles should be firmly pressed to the desired position.  The applied mixture must be covered with tiles within 20 minutes to avoid “skin” formation, i.e. before the adhesive film starts setting.

In cases where additional adhesion or flexibility is required, such as unstable substrates subject to vibration or expansion/contraction effects (e.g. gypsum boards, chipboards, heated floor, terraces, balconies, etc.), it is necessary to add up to 3,35 kg of ADIFLEX-B to 25 kg of ISOMAT AK-10, plus the mount of water needed to obtain the desired workability, so that the tile adhesive becomes more flexible.

  • Due to cement content, ISOMAT AK-10 reacts with moisture forming alkaline solutions, thus it  is classified as irritant.
  • Very porous surfaces such as aerated concrete, gypsum boards, chipboards, etc. must be primed first with UNI-PRIMER acrylic primer.
  • Please consult the directions for safe use and precautions written on the packaging before use.
