RASOKOL

Pre-mixed powder mortar.  It is used as an adhesive and smoothing compound for the construction of thermal insulation systems, external facades, attics, basements, etc.

Technical Qualities
RASOKOL by OIKOS is a premixed mortar in powder form based on Portland Cement, quartz sands and synthetic fillers available in two versions: Fino (0,6 mm) and Medio (0,8 mm). It is used as a screed and as an adhesive for the realization, both on interiors and exteriors, of thermal insulation systems in facades. It can be used in attics, basements, groundfloor rooms and similar situations. it can also be used for under tiles insulation, “open view” roofs, ventilated facades, radiator niches etc. It is non inflammable and friendly to both humans and the environment.

Ideal use
Gluing of polystyrene panels (both expanded or extruded), expanded polyurethane, cork, panels in mineral fibres or similar, on walls or ceilings, on masonry bases, cement plasters, mixed mortars, concrete etc. Following the prior application of its specific primer, it can also be used on gypsum and chalk-based walls if perfectly dry. Screeding of insulation surfaces made with special fibreglass nets. Preparation of the surface before application of the finish products.

Surface Preparation
Before starting the application of panels, make sure that the support or base is dry, mature, solid and homogeneous as well as sufficiently flat and free of oil, grease, dust and loose or flaking material. On interior, in the case of slightly powdering surfaces, apply as a consolidation primer NEOFIX by OIKOS.

Application Method
RASOKOL should be prepared using a mixer or drill whisk on low speed, mixing approximately 6 litres of drinkable water with every sack of 25 kg of the product until a creamy, even paste has been obtained. Leave to rest for about 10 minutes before  giving it a further quick whisk The adhesive mortar that is created is usable for about 4 hours. For the method needed to glue panels, follow the instructions given by the producer of the panels. In any case, on exteriors or in case of heavy, big panels it is always advisable to fully cover the surface of the insulating panel by using a toothed trowel. For panels of medium, small dimensions RASOKOL can be applied in patches or along the edges of the panels by using a common steel trowel. Press the panel against the surface, and if required, pat the panel against the wall to facilitate adhesion. Check the levels and uniformity of the surface by using a metal beam. When the panels are fixed using wall plugs and screws, these should be applied immediately after the positioning of the panel or before the adhesive starts to adhere, not when adhesion has already begun. The aim of these plugs is to keep the panel steady during the adhesive setting. Approximately 24 hours after having attached the panels, apply an even thickness of about 2-3 mm of RASOKOL, and using a steel trowel, sink the fibreglass net into this layer, overlapping the sections of net into the layer, overlapping the sections of net by about 10 cm on each side A further coat of RASOKOL can be applied after about 24 hours and given a troweled finish as with normal plaster. Further coats of finish products can be applied only once the surface has fully matured.
