One-component cold-applied joint sealant consisting of bitumen, elastomeric polymers, mineral fibers, special additives, fillers and a small amount of organic solvent. Suitable for sealing horizontal joints, for sealing joints in complex detail areas where it is difficult to apply bituminous sheet membranes (e.g. gutters, flashings, parapets, vents, etc.) and for bonding bituminous roof shingles. The surface must be smooth, clean, dry and free form dust, oils, grease, and other contaminants. ISOMAC is cold-applied with a trowel. 24 months from production data, in original, sealed containers, in cool, dry and frost-free conditions.
ISOMAC
- The membrane formed after solvent evaporation cannot be attacked by diluted acids or bases and various corrosive liquids. It is not resistant to oils.
- For joint sealing applications, it is recommended to use the bituminous varnish ISOLAC-BT prior to application of ISOMAC.
- When the surface sealed with ISOMAC is exposed to direct sunlight, it is required to protect it with ISOLAC-BT ALU solar reflective aluminum coating to extend its lifespan and avoid premature aging.
- ISOMAC is flammable and thus it should be kept away from any sources of ignition, e.g. blowtorch, cigarettes, etc. For more information, please consult the relevant Material Safety Data Sheet.
