WATERSTOP TPE 205

WATERSTOP TPE 205 is a swellable joint sealing tape based on swellable modified elastomer material. In contact with water it develops volume by swelling up to 468%. As a result it seals and waterproofs the joint gaps permanently.
WATERSTOP TPE 205 is used in underground constructions for sealing and waterproofing horizontal or vertical construction joints in concrete. The substrate must be mostly flat and have a smooth texture. The surface must be free from gravel pockets, cavities, gaping cracks, dust. Any remaining layers must be removed, mechnically abraded with wire brush as necessary. During the application of WATERSTOP TPE 205, the substrate must be dry or may be matt damp. The fromation of puddles is not permitted. WATERSTOP TPE 205 must be generally located in the center of the construction joints. WATERSTOP TPE 205 shall be  fully enclosed by concrete. The distance between WATERSTOP TPE 205 and the edge of construction element must be at least 8 cm. WATERSTOP TPE 205 can be placed and secured with the elastomeric sealants FLEX PU-40 or FLEX MS-45. The concreting process should not take place for at least 4 hours after bonding. The tapes must be placed tightly together to prevent gaps. Alternatively, it can be fastened mechanically using suitable nails. The distance between nails should not exceed 20 cm in the longitudinal direction of the tape.

  • It is important to store WATERSTOP TPE 205 in dry conditions.
  • Waterstop tapes must lie flat and planar on the concrete without twists.
  • Protect waterstop tapes from moisture and water until the concrete is poured.
  • Before starting the concreting process, visually inspect the waterstop. Heavily swollen waterstop tape is unsuitable and must be removed.
  • WATERSTOP TPE 205 tapes are not suitable for movement joints.
  • There must be no oils and other contaminants beneath WATERSTOP TPE 205.
